These are questions that we were asked:
Hula Kahiko will be on which day - Thursday or Friday?
If there are enough registrations for Kahiko, the performances will be on both days. There will be a mix of performances on both days, so no "Kahiko only" day.
Do I have to register for Kahiko AND 'Auana?
You can choose and register for Kahiko or 'Auana - and of course you can register for both.
"Teachers are NOT allowed to compete" - what does that mean?
Teachers who register their Hālau or Group are not allowed to perform with their groups. If you are a teacher or instructor but not for the group that is performing, you may enter with your group. It is important to know that you must not teach the group that you are entering with, you are allowed to be only a member of the group that has another kumu or teacher
May a dancer compete in Kahiko AND 'Auana?
Yes, but be aware of the age division!
Example: If you are dancing Kahiko in the Makua group, you must dance in the Makua group for 'Auana division, too. You are not allowed to dance in the Kupuna group 'Auana then.
Is it possible to register further dancers at a later time?
Yes.
The minimum of dancers in a group is 3 there is no maximum limit
May we already send the mele for our group and soloist?
Yes of course, the earlier you are, the better is your chance that you can really dance the mele you want.
