The Hula ‘Oni E Festival was founded by Kumu Hula Hokulani and Larry De Rego in 1992. Today there are Hula ‘Oni E Hula Competitions in Honolulu/Hawai’i as well as in Tokyo and Osaka/Japan.
The first Hula 'Oni E Hula Competition Europe took place in October 2018 in Vienna.
The 2nd Hula 'Oni E Hula Competition
will take place in
Vienna/Austria on June 10, 2023.
Following the 2nd Hula 'Oni E Hula Competition Europe, there will be the opportunity to perform dances and share them with us in a Hō'ike - for all groups and dancers
who don't participate in the competition.
