We warmly invite Hālau and Hula groups from across Europe to take part!
We are currently accepting non-binding registrations and inquiries. Please note that participation is open exclusively to Hālau and groups based in Europe.
If you would like to join with your Hālau or Hula group, send us a message and we will send you the participation guidelines and rules.
The Hula ‘Oni E Festival was founded by Kumu Hula Hokulani and Larry De Rego in 1992. Today there are Hula ‘Oni E Hula Competitions in Honolulu/Hawai’i as well as in Tokyo and Osaka/Japan.
The first Hula 'Oni E Hula Competition Europe took place in October 2018 and in June 2023 in Vienna.
Following the 3rd Hula 'Oni E Hula Competition in Europe, a Hō'ike will take place. This is a wonderful opportunity for all those who are unable or do not wish to participate in the competition to showcase their dances.

Workshops
Saturday, June 6 and Sunday, June 7, 2026
The Kumu Hula of Hālau Hula O Hokulani and the Judges of the Hula 'Oni E Europe Hula Competition will once again be offering workshops.
This is a unique opportunity to learn directly from the Kumu—the source of knowledge itself. Hula 'Oni E Europe is the only festival where even the judges teach!
